I'm not sure about gold rims I was thinking more the decals than anything. I know it's not the full deal but I've seen quite a few of the cj golden eagles and a lot have chrome rims or black rims, you think it wouldn't look good with just the decals on it?

i say go for it as long as you run gold wheels! Thats the best part of owning a jeep. The ability to make it whatever you want it to be. Its not like you cant change it back. Ive painted my sahara appliques white, gold, and now back to white. I never installed them gold looked a little cheesey.

Only do it if you're 'all in' with the complete package, I'd say. I had a '79 CJ-5 GE with a V-8 and loved it, gold wheels and gaudy eagle on the hood and all. But, IMO you need to go with the color on the top, too. Make it look like a true tribute, and don't worry about being cheesey. Be proud of the heritage.
