i almost forgot to ask.. the rack supports 300lbs i noticed but the tent hangs over the side. is there some other kind of support for it?
I'm running the Gobi/Simpson III setup as well, and I can definitely say that the tent is awesome and the end of a long day on the trail. Just pull over, flip it open (bedding can stay inside) and you're good to go. The "treehouse" aspect only adds to the appeal, IMO. Here's a direct link to the Simpson on the Alpha Expedition site. (EDIT: oops, I see David linked above -- well enjoy anyway )

When the tent is unfolded, the ladder supports the cantilevered portion to avoid any stress on the hinge or mounting surface (rack):

I love that pic!!!

I'm also running the GOBI rack and have windshield lights. It's very simple, I put 2-3 washers behind the light mount over the bottom windshield screw and screwed it back in. Too easy.

Wow. Great pics! Even my wife likes it. And when it comes to extra shit for the the jeep that says something. Just added to my list.....which never seems to stop growing. Put it on sale and it will go to the top of the list.
