Sounds great, but someone needs to figure out how to make the motor rev down quicker. I hate emissions :(

Does anyone like there Gibson? Every thread I see asking about Gibson people answer with Cool Tech,Magnaflow or Borla info. Does the Gibson seem to give the lower end power they claim? How does it sound?

You have the Cool Tech? You ARE Cool Tech aren't you, not4re? Anyway, Cool Tech uses a Magnaflow muffler, which is the way to go. I hear Gibsons do not last and prematurely evacuate.........uh.......... I mean rust out.

I would look at the 'Borla JK twin exhaust' I've had a Gibson and Dynaflow on my YJ and it didn't last too long (rusted, discolor etc..) I've installed the Borla headers and catback on my 99 TJ and It lasted until I sold it for a JK. Plus Borla has an excellent warranty, I had to replace the exhaust system because my hitch was in the way, so they sent me a new system but I had to ship back the replaced exhaust back to them. I know Borla has the exhaust available for the JK for about $700 at Quadratec, but in the long run it pays off.

As far as the sound, the gibson and dynaflow on my YJ sounded very similar to a Flowmaster exhaust system. The Borla that I had on my TJ was very mellow but throatty (hmm dunno if that made sense)

good luck

It's been 20+ years (since the CJ's) that anyone has heard a V-6 in a Jeep that came from the factory that way, excluding anything onther than a Wrangler of course.

thx...

I had a Flomaster 40 series on my ZJ (4.0 with Banks header)... and I LOVED the volume and the tone.

I liked it enough that I asked for a 50 series on the wife's '04 Tahoe. The guy put a 40 on it. Sounds GREAT, dont get me wrong... but the interior resonance is horrible. I hate the drone at 2100 rpm. hate it hate it hate it.
(i towed my ZJ to Moab with this Tahoe... O/D off... at 2200 rpm the whole way )

so, I guess you may have an idea where I'm coming from with my concern.

nota4re.... your vids are helpful. Thanks alot.
