getting in the rear seat?

I tried to look at my seat yesterday with no real progress. Unbolted it from the floor, removed the seat track and stuff. It looks like there is only about 1" of extra forward movement that can be had before hitting the dash. Only way i can see doing that is to get some flat 3/16" by 1" wide flat stock and redrill the holes that the seat bolts to the seat bases on forward 1". That will make the slide back feature of the seat go 1" less, but the seat will go 1" more forward when slid forward....Thats about all i can come up with!
Did it, gained about 2", it works fine, much easier to get in back now !!
