Default Gerry/Gas Can Mounts...

Does anyone know of a gas can mount that will mount up to a factory spare tire rack or bumper? I have seen a few that require a whole new system but nothing simple like described. I was thinking maybe a mount behind the spare that sticks out to one side so the can sits beside your spare. Anybody got anything like that? Pics and where to get it are a huge plus. Thanks.

There are several threads on this subject. I'd suggest starting with this one:

It seems likely that someone herein with metal skills could make one that could go on the stock mount behind the tire and hold a can on each side.

They could probably make some good cash. I would certainly buy one.

As easily as the stock tire carrier is broken, I wouldn't mount Gerry cans on it.

I would guess that 95 percent of JK owners have their OEM spare tire carrier and have never (or never will) break it. Haven't seen it as a problem. Like everything else - if it becomes a problem fix it - otherwise it's fine.

I was speakin of those who have larger tires mounted on a stock carrier. Tons of them have broken. That's a problem I suppose you'll never have.

True. Because I know that the stock carrier is for stock tires. If I mount a larger/heavier tire/wheel combo - I'll not expect the stock carrier to hold and will replace it with the proper equipment. Thus the stock carrier is perfectly fine. No breakage peoblem - except for possible user error. But thanks for your continued negative commentary.

Glad I didn't disappoint.

Oh great. A pastor vs a redneck. This isn't going anywhere. . .
