Gears. Yukon & G2
I am looking to regear soon and would like thoughts and/or experiences with ring & pinion gears, Yukon and G2.
The good, the bad and the ugly about them.
Thanks

I'm running Yukon 4.56 gears, been great. I doubt you can go wrong with either as long as you break them in properly, and just as important have a reputable shop install them properly.

That about sums it up for the majority of 'JK' gears.
Both of the mfg's gears you are looking at should still be coming out of the same factory in Asia, so look past the name that is stamped on the box and just compare price and warranty.
(another company is apparently making d44 4.56's here in the US, but only that ratio, for that axle ??)

I thought Dana Spicer made gears but nothing lower (aka higher number) than 4.56.

Installed 4.56 yukons about 5k miles ago. No issues. Got a deal on them from 4ws.com. Got both front and back and basic install kit for about $455 shipped. When you are regearing you might consider doing a teraflex axle sleeve/gusset kit at the same time. They are about $125 and since you already have the axle apart it is the best time to do it
