Hey guys I am curious to know whether or not I need a new driveshaft when I change gears? I'm looking at the 5.13 kit for the dana 30/44 on rough country and it's not very specific

only if you've lifted it beyond the angles the stock shaft can handle. I have 5.13's and an auto w/35's. kinda wishing i would have gone 4.88's. the majority of driving is on the freeway/hyway. were running about 2300ish rpms at 70. also i would check out northridge4x4 they have some amazing deals on gear packages. and free shipping right not too

Thanks for the heads up, I'm planning on running 37's if everything goes right with trails maybe once a month if I'm lucky. I heard 5.13 was a good setup for this?

Also consider which transmission you are getting advice for, since the gearing needs for a 6spd are different than the gearing needs for an auto. Measuring your tires and plugging some numbers into the rpm chart in the faq's would be a good place to start. At least you'll have some context when reading peoples reviews.
