You only need a carrier from the front

Funny I read the threads that were posted that a 3.21 dana 44 needs a new carrier if going over 3.92. Most lockers for the JK dana 44 also state a different part for 3.21 gears and 4.10 and up.

Might be a good time to upgrade to a full case limited/locker instead of buying another open carrier for that d30. The Truetrac is a decent option, somewhere around $390 for the d30 version a Summit.

It was mentioned in one of those links. JK 44's use 'thick' gears, other 44's use regular gears. Guessing he is right and that explains why non-JK 44's deal with the carrier break, but JK 44's do not?

Only reason I know this is that I just went through all of it this spring when I regeared from 3.21 to 4.56. I dealt with Rick at Quadratec and found out that I only "needed" a carrier for the front, but
In the end I opted for trutracs front and rear which took the place of my stock carriers.

I have a 2011, so the gutless 3.8 and a 6-speed
On 315-70-17, so this gear swap definitely was worth it.
