Default Gear Box Bolt Size.... 7/16 or 1/2

I am in the process of upgrading my stock 3.21 gears and before I was able to complete my purchase they asked me what size bolt size I had, of which I had no idea.

They asked if it was a 7/16 or 1/2. They were NOT able to determine this at the dealer or Mopar with my VIN. They said I had to open up the diff and look.

My Jeep's build date was 06/2007. Does anyone know when DC decided to change to 1/2?

I think if you have 3.21 gears you will need a new center carrier, cost a bout 70bucks....check with David at northridge and see these 2 threads
