Gas savings??

I basically quit driving the jeep, 180 miles in the last 4 weeks. I've been taking the motorcycle to work, down jeep trails and to the grocery store. My last tank of gas in the jeep has lasted me over a month and moto is getting 65 mpg.

Ya it is definitely disappointing. There just comes a point where 80 dollars isn't worth the 220 miles I can drive. Everybody has a different breaking point. I just worry this summer every time I want to wheel it's going to cost between $ 80 and 100 every time.

I just re-geared to 5.13 after driving for about 1500 miles on my new 2.5" lift and 315/70r17 tires and averaging about 12-13 mpg. I just picked it up today, but my buddy just did his 2 weeks ago and he's getting 17-18 on the highway at 70mph and most importantly...you can use your overdrive. Prior to my re gear, I had to turn off the OD to get to a consistent 70mph on the highway.
I am hoping for 19mpg and will be happy with 17mpg. Superchips or Bullydog maybe down the line...gotta quit spending money for now (as soon as I get those new Eagle Alloy rims...and shocks...and bumpers...). I need an intervention.

I talked to a guy today at Autozone who is doing some mods to a '89 Wrangler...he told me that he's putting a 4.3L motor out of an old blazer he had along with Cold intake (and a couple of other things)....said he'll be able to get up to 30 mpg. Don't worry, I had my boots on. Has anyone else heard about the 4.3 doing this? Not that it matters, he told me the bell housing in a JK wouldn't work with the 4.3....

Unlimted Sahara automatic
Stock 32s
CAI
Stock stubby bumper (that cost me about 30 miles per tank, but looks great)

I switched to 89 octane and keep the eco light on. Showing 18.2 and tire size is still off. Went from stock steelies to 32's. So prolly a lil better than that.
