next time your on the highway... prest down the pin on the MPG side and hold it in... it will reset it and you should see it start jumping up pretty quick...

I got a 2009 rubi and I can cruise at 55-65 on the highway and stay under 2k RPM's and I can get about 18 mpg if I am going a long ways...

The averager thing sucks... you use the remote start and you get in and it says 9mpg... it takes your 15 miles at 65mph to get it up to 13.5 - Not a real good measure...

my first tank of gas from the dealership got me to 200 miles...

my second tank got me to 450...

third tank is going to be a little over 700 miles I think...

It seems to be getting better...

I am comming from a Benz that I used to drive at like 90 every where I went... It got me a whole ass load of speeding tickets and now I have a conditional for the next 4 months.... I also feel like it takes me 2 weeks to get 11 miles to work in the morning... but I am starting to realize (as i get older) that life isnt a race... and that driving like a dick, well... its just not cool... I would rather tub it along and be able to get her muddy then be one of those think's he too fast to furious asshats who nearly kills everyone on the road...

sheesh... I must be growing up...

HAHAHAHHA

my rubi started with terrible milage for about 4k miles then it bumped up. then i did allmy mods and it dropped slightly. I have 34" tires alot of armor and hundreds of punds of tools and get just under 16mpg.

last week i took out all of the tools got my exhaust chopped and a magnaflow straight muffler put in and I was getting 18mpg. do not know if it was the weight or the exhaust. I am sure it was a little of both, but the exhaust mostly!!

BTW I have seen so many people doing cat back systems from the internet or where ever for 4-$500.00. I was able to get mine done at a local shop including the magnaflow for $120.00. my exhaust runs just past the evap and then dumps down short of the rear axle. no bends in pipe from the y back! Also that stock muffler is huge and weighs prob. 40lbs. now that area is open for future mods.

hope that helps!

I get about 16 mpg no matter what I do. That is calculated using the real method not the dashboard.

We are driving 4000 pound rigs with the aerodynamics of a brick. If you want great mileage I would look for an inexpensive civic or corolla as a second car.

Or a VW Jetta/Golf TDI @ 45mpg city, 55mpg highway (and lots of get-up-and-go).

I'm around 3000 miles on Rubi 4dr and calculating actual miles/gas vs. computer I've been getting around 13-15. This is mostly in town or commuting mileage (@45 mph or below) with occasional highway trip on day off. I'm chalking it up to winter gas in northeast & computer learning (?) If it doesn't improve its incentive to go to 35s!

Thanks for the advice. I am hoping the mileage bumps up. It's not a big deal to me. My 93 Wrangler got 10 MPG after the mods. I was just surprised that an out of the box brand new jk was to the lower end of the average. I think I might hook it up to my Modis and see what the sensors are telling me. Just thought I'de ask you guys first. My career in the auto field has taught me one thing and that is all the education in the world doesnt make up for real life trial, error, and experience. I love this site!

On the highway, cruising at 65, I get about 20 MPG in my auto Sahara Unlimited. Around town it drops like a rock, but I do my best to keep the RPMs under 3000 (which is pretty easy if you drive normally) and I can get 16 out of it.
