If a 4" lift gives 5" and your going from a 29" tire to a 37" tire you add another 4" the jeep sits at around 72" stock. Your garage door needs to be at least 6' 9" or more. I got the jeep height from eyeballing my jeep's height. It might be slightly shorter. Most garage doors open to around 6'10". However, you should measure yours. I have a 6'10" door and a 8' door.

If it doesn't fit I hope you didn't put the lift on while it was in the garage. Kinda hard to get it back out.

Sorry to resurrect such an old thread for only my 2nd post on these forums, however I'm a bit concerned about a similar matter.

Measured the overall clearance of my stock 2010 Rubicon which has only a soft top and it is just about spot on 6 feet (72")
My garage door, which I do not own, it's a rented space in a city owned garage claims to be 7 feet (84") though when I measured it myself, I think it's more like 83".
I have a planned surgery for my Jeep a week from Friday to have a 3 " Teraflex suspension done as well as 35" tires.
Can I trust that the change from the original tires, 255's (30") to 35 + 3" of lift will really equate to an 8" clearance change from 72" to 80" or is there some crazy freak of nature that I'm going to somehow hit the chain on the garage door at 83"?
I'm terrified as much about hitting that door now as I am about the horrid gas mileage decrease I'm in for.

you'll get 3" from the lift +2.5" from the tires. You only get 1/2 of the 5" below the axle which lifts the jeep, the top half just fills in space to the fender.

Ah yes, it's diameter, not radius. Phew, now I can sleep at night. Leaving the Jeep outside the garage would just be begging for trouble I do not need here in the barrio.

I run 38" new MT/R's with 5.5" of lift AND a soft top. It fits in my garage with about 1.5" to spare.

Do you have an airplane hangar for a garage?

The real question is will you only get 3" of lift from the 3" lift.
