I had the exact same problem with my 2014 JKU Rubicon. The problem is called "Cupping" and is caused by not rotating the tires regularly. They should be rotated every time you change your oil. I had my alignment checked and it was spot on.

Cupping does not occur all the way across the tread. That is bar wear, caused by poor balance and weak shocks and can occur at any tire position.
