We had a great time. Actually headed out again this morning going to try fisher lake. We did Pozega and Alpine lake last week great trails.

It does look like the cupping. Its strange cause I kinda thought that cupping was when you didn't inflate your tires enough. I know that rotating the tires will help but it almost sounds like a bandaid... What I am trying to say is there may be something going on in the geometry that is a little wonky I would like to get that sorted out. While still rotating my tires to get even wear on them as opposed to rotating to prevent the shakes... if that makes sense. But I will go through planmans thread and see if there is anything that needs tightening up then come next payday take it in and check the alignment. Thanks for all the replies.

If those are Goodyear MTR/K then I had the same bizzare wearing issues with that tire, along with many other issues like out of round, never balancing well, etc. I went from 35" MTR/K that needed to be rebalanced every year to Toyo 37" MT's that have had none of these issues. They have 25k miles on them never been rebalanced and smooth as silk. Some tires are just bad tires, lol
I bought mine used, placed the worst tire rear right. I have rotated them twice in 5000 miles, and all seem to be evening out.

Like kjeeper mentioned, more frequent rotation is better with our larger, more aggressive tires. I buy mine through discount tire, and use the free balance/rotate every 2500 miles or so. I never wait 5k or longer. Some may say that is too often, but it's free and I get very even treadwear between all 5 tires, and never run into problems with cupping or anything.
Call some of your local alignment shops. You might find one that does free checks. Just have them throw it on the rack and print the before specs to see where you're at, not a full alignment that you have to pay for. Then post the results, (and ask for second opinions on the work they tell you needs to be done.)

Another vote to frequent tire rotations. To me as well it looks like tire cupping. Previous owner probably skipped the tire rotations. Of course, check the front end for worn parts, whether you do it yourself or prefer a trusted shop.

Thats exactly what mine look like, but bad ball joints are the culprit. I agree that every 3000 miles is a good rule of thumb for agressive mt's.

I generally rotate every oil change but I have slacked off on this one a time or two. Both front tires are like that so I will take it too a shop and have them check it. I've searched around and found that the problem could be with the shocks, alignment, ball joints, wheel bearings, springs, and bushings. Been under the weather so I haven't jacked up the front to wiggle components just yet. Sounds like a good job for tomorrow. Thanks again all!

had a bad wear pattern on my KM2's and did the ball joints and it seemed to have fixed the problem. I'm 12k into a new set with no issues. Check the Ball Joints for sure.
