Default Fuel Door & Bushwacker Pockect Flares

Is there any way to modify or make a fuel door(Rugged Ridge Locking) fit while running Bushwacker Fender flares(Pocket)? My wife got me the fuel door for Christmas so I wanna try my best to make it work.

Maybe its me but the fuel door shouldn't be anywhere near the flares. You have pics of the issue?

Notice in picture 1 the stock fuel well touches the fender. Photo 3 shows that the Fuel Door has 4 places for screws. These screws are supposed to be put into the stock plastic lip. However, I can't seem to get the fuel door to align enough to screw it in and still be able to lock the door.

Grind 1/8" off of the part that touches and touch up with paint. Only other option is to take a exacto knife and trim a notch in the flair

Remove most of the bolts/screws from the fender on the side of the fuel door. Install the fuel door and re-fasten the bolts. I have the same setup but I used better screws.

Trim the ring and touch up the edge with paint. Make sure you cut it where the two will be flush with one another.
