front shock bolts - how tight?
throwing some new shocks on and wondering how tight to tighten the the upper shock bolt for the fronts (i don't currently have a torque wrench).
i cranked them down to where the bushings is pretty much the same diameter as the washers. tight enough?

The rubber bushing should just begin to bulge out when the top nut is tight enough. They don't have to be tight at all but you don't want them to work their way off either. Bottom bolts are 56 ft/lbs I believe.

The bushings should crush to the point where the nut bottoms out on the shoulder on the stud to achieve the desired torque.
I'm looking for a pic, but front shock studs have a stop at the bottom of the threaded portion, that's what stops the nut and lets it tighten up/ stop turning.
