Front Dana 44 sleeved and gusseted - Worth?
Hi Guys,
I just upgraded to a Pro Rock 44 front housing and i was trying to figure out what my stock Dana 44 front housing and stock front axle shafts (no diff) are worth. I have someone local that is interested but I have no idea what to sell it for. It is sleeved and gusseted with the Off Road Evolution kit, in fact they did the installation.
I'm not sure if this is the right forum to be asking this question, but since I'm not actually selling the axle I didn't think it belonged in the "For Sale" forum.
Hopefully you guys can help me figure out a fair price. Thanks!
Info on my axle:
2011 Rubicon Unlimited Dana 44
Offroad Evolution C's Gusset Kit
Offroad Evolution Magnum sealed sleeves
Install and welding by Off Road Evolution

If the gears and everything are not in it I would say like $200 for the housing and like $50 each for the axles. JK stock axles suck. If its still pretty complete I would say $1k for everything would be fair, but Im a cheap bastard.

This is a tough one as it depends on the buyer. If someone has access to a Rubi locker, it may be worth more. Otherwise, someone has to buy gears, install kit, locker, and new axle shafts. Plus, labor to install. You're looking at $2500 or more (depending on which shafts), plus the cost of the housing, to it running.
The net cost to you likely would have been less had you sold the whole axle and just bought a fully built PR.
Maybe $500 for the housing?

It would be worth scrap. By the time you buy all the inners and brakes, have it set up, you would just be better off buying a new crate 44. Sell the shafts and junk the rest.

It'd be worth it for someone w/ a JK d30 wanting to upgrade if they're going about to regear and get a locker/aftermarket shafts anyway, since the d30 brakes, unit bearing, and knuckles can be used from their old setup. $4-500 would probably be fair.
