I would love to see some photos as well. I am planning on getting an AEV Front Bumper. And I would like to use a Roadmaster tow bar.

I had the Lod bumper and modified my existing Roadmaster tow bar and it works great. Sorry as no digital camera for pictures. Also, Chris at Lod will add an extra bracket or make holes to match pin size. Found the Lod people to do a fantastic job for me.

Default Question and new product

Has anyone used the rugged ridge xhd bumper for towing? I have been thinking of buying it?

A little off subject but has anyone ever heard of the easy street tow bar by American Tow Bar. It looks pretty cool.

I have an ARB front bumper and a Falcon2 hitch assy. The frame mount portion was custome fitted all else is using stock parts.

Don't forget the required braking system. Mine is built in, no muss no fuss,

The only problem I've ever had so far is knowing whether or not it is still behind my MH. I have my wife stand up and look out the rear window to be sure. Other times I can see its shadow on one side or the other depening on the sun. I may have to break down and by a wireless camera for the righ.

How is it built in? Has anyone seen the Easy Street tow bar? It looks really easy.

Default Revisiting this old thread

I have been in search of the right front bumper/tow bar match up for a while. I have a Blue Ox tow bar that I've used to pull my Avalanche and an 04 TJ.
Now that I have a JK I would like to keep the same towing setup.
I just placed an order for a Shrockworks Stubby and I may try to adapt a Blue Ox tab accessory to the front of it. I still have the old Blue Ox baseplate from the TJ that I may try to utilize the tabs from but I'm not certain that will work.
After seeing how the Currie tow bar mounting plate works with the factory front bumper, I'm wondering if it would work with the Stubby? It looks like they bolt to the frame the same way.
Any thoughts?
Brian

I don't think it will work. I believe the Currie system mounts up behind the bumper and the Shockworks bumper covers the area to prevent the Currie system to bolt in. Looking at pix #12 on Shockwork's link you provided, they look totally different. I actually had one custom made to pull my JK and it looks very simular to the other pictures posted. The only thing I would keep in mind, is that if you lift your JK, the Curry shield may need to be trimmed. That would be bad - you want the most support possible.

And yes, don't forget the braking system. I run a U.S. gear system with my RV and enjoy the set up.

And I run 37s on a 2 door, that gets towed behind a 32' RV.
