Default Flowmaster 40 or 50 for 3.8

Hey guys - I want to replace the stock muffler for more of a deep growl. The Flowmaster website has my 07 in the 50 series but I see a lot of guys are running the 40 or 44 with no modification. My question is which one sounds better (hard to tell on crappy computer speakers) and will the 40/44 fit my 07 3.8?

Thanks

any muffler will fit assuming you have room for it and the inlet and outlet is the correct size. flowmaster makes them in just about every inlet and outlet diameter you can find. Stop by a muffler shop and ask, even the smallest shops can get flowmaster stuff quickly and they will know what can go where. I did every bit of work on my jeep but when it came time to do exhaust I took it to a shop and said here, go nuts. The 2 doors have very little room to stuff a muffler next to the evap where the stock resonator is.

I run a flowmaster HP2 on my 3.6 but its trail only, it would drive any driver nuts on the highway.

Hey, that was me in the black shirt... Love that jeep. Have you looked into what you are going to do with your towers?

As to your question, I have the 50 in my jeep and its just the right sound.

oh hey! I have been keeping an eye on them. Ill probably leave them like they are until I decide to remove them and go with a taller tower.

At the end of the video, Jacob says "good job something" it bothers me that I dont know what he is saying!

I went with the 40 today. I got it installed for 140 out the door. It has a nice growl when idling. Not in love with it at higher RPMs but I'm sure I will get use to it.

I'm running a flowmaster 44 and I agree at idle and startup it sounds great.

Higher rpm's I kind of don't like it sometimes.
Thought it sounded like a fart can on a Subaru at first but one day after going off the line with one, his sounded really lame.

I will probably try another cat back system after I replace my headers.
