Default First time jk owner, wheel and tire questions.

Hey guys, Finally traded my mini cooper for a 2 door jk about 2 months ago, I want to get new wheels and tires and lift it up 2.5in. but what my question is, our winters are pretty bad where im from so i want to get new wheels and tires first just for daily driving on the snow covered roads and icy roads ( the stock tires are pretty well shot and ready to be replaced). looking to go 16x8 with 4.5backspacing. with a 305/70r16.. Will this work on stock suspension for a month or so of normal street driving until i get the lift?
Im pretty sure 305/70r16 is a 32.8" x 12"

Your issue is going to be with the backspacing. I currently run a 15x8 with 3.75 backspacing and a 33x12.5 tire with no issues on road. I am also shopping for the lift to give myself the extra clearance offroad.

Hope this helps some

It should be fine for street driving, I run 15x8 with 4.5 back spacing and it's a good fit.

So your riding with 305/70r16 and no lift, and you dont get any rubbing driving on pavement? The wheels I am getting are 16x8 6offset and 4.51 backspace.
