did you dunk your clutch while you were off-roading? while it was submerged, did you use it at all? if they open it up, and find mud in there, they will say you did it, and you are purchasing a new clutch assembly...

Well the took it about today. Said it wasnt a faulty clutch but they did say that its gone. They are putting one in under warrenty which is great. But I still dont understand how a clutch could go bad in under 4000 miles. They say theres nothng wrong with anything else but this is my 4th standerd and I Have never need to replace a clutch before. But I have decieded to put 4:10 ratio in becuase thats the only idea I have. Think I might have to through in some lockers while thats open. Any idea how much that would run me

if you read the towing card, i believe it says something to the effect that they'll tow you out of a bind, but if the trouble isn't a vehicle malfunction, they're not paying for the tug. that being said, i still think this guy's problem is a vehicle malfunctiona and should be taken care of in every way by dealer/manufac.

I'd fight it. A few emails, calls, etc. I wouldn't beat myself up over it but it is worth a try. I would also tell the dealer that you may not give a good service review unless someone pics up the tab on the towing. Maybe they'll throw a little pressure DC's way if it's gonna' bite them in the a$$ too.

all told, you are probably looking at between 800-1200 for gears and lockers. talk to the local 4x shops in your area, they'll do it cheaper than your dealer, but the dealer won't cover it.

have the 4x shop order their own parts, even if you think you can get them cheaper. people have run into problems after diff work with the installer saying it's the parts, the supplier saying it's the installer, and the customer gets to do it all over again.
