My 2 door is built pretty light and there's a visible difference in ride height between winter Jeep and summer Jeep just with the weight of the hard top and doors. The good news is that you're prepared to make a good foundation to fine tune down the line. Once you've taken care of the control arms, driveshafts, steering and axle work, most of your components will have some adjustability. See where the Jeep sits on the springs in your kit and if you ever want to change it, it should pretty much just cost you new springs and some tuning. Part of the journey is screwing up some now and learning along the way. Your taste will likely change the deeper into it you get too, as will what you want from your Jeep.
Thank you. I have my dad to thank for that. Even to this day he continues to say there many different ways to do something, pick the right way even if its harder. Well that makes sense about ride height. All the different weight of things can definitely effect it. But the things you mentioned of being taken care of will be done sooner than later.

I would encourage you to take your time to make a decision, but if you are really impulsive, Metalcloak is having a free shipping sale that ends at midnight pacific time I think. They don't run sales very often.....sometimes it's 10% off and sometimes it's free shipping. You don't need a code, it should just adjust at checkout.....or at least that's what today's email said.

This is my 2008 4door, 3.5" MetalCloak coils and 37" STT Pro's w/steel stubby and 9500lb winch, (before I got around to chopping that set of flares). Running various coils over the years I haven't kept up on actual gained height from stock, but these are closer to 5" than to 4...

Something worth mentioning is that MC doesn't do a bunch of sales like other mfg's, so get on their email list and watch for the one-day free shipping deals, usually on holidays. (there is one today!!) They also did a military discount for me, if that applies to you.

This is no joke. I did more than my share of this. My learning curve was pretty dang steep figuring it all out. That's mainly why I just try to help others avoid some of the speedbumps.....or at least realize what's coming up in front of them.

Looking back that one even made me wonder wtf was I saying.....LOL

@Bora Bora I'm new to the JK world. My JKU is and will always be a mall crawler.
Take a minute and look at my new member post. I went thru all that stuff with a TJ that
turned into a pretty decent rock crawler. In one of his post he mention truss and all that
stuff. My reply is and still is if he goes that route to go ahead and gear to 5.13. No I can't
speak from experience going thru all that with a JK. I damn sure can on a TJ period! Half
of our members have JK's and watching there builds and wheeling with them for many a
years leads to some of my comments and assumptions. Almost every single person with
a JK in our area and off road club that starts wheeling with us goes to at least 5.13. That
is a fact that you can't debate. I will try to learn from your experience and hopefully have a
better understanding of the JK world. Thanks

Hey it’s all good! I didn’t mean to come off as abrasive, I was just trying to speak from experience. No right or wrong here, just a bunch of opinions. What works for one person, may drive another person crazy. Welcome to the community.

I get out to Rausch and I do stupid things and I don't feel like the setup holds me back at all.
2:72 for Sports/Sahara’s. Really makes a huge difference going to 4:1.

I agree, he’ll be fine with either.

Yes! I have resharp to thank for all his mis-haps, where I followed his lead and then learned from him of what not to do.

After reading everyones comments I feel even though I love the higher up look its not worth it to get it as big. But i have no problem putting in the money in for the upgrades i just think being a little shorter will be less stress for everything right? I was ready at any second to buy a lift kit but i underestimated this build hahaha i appreciate everyone's input for helping me understand what all goes into this. I want to do it right and get all 8 control arms in a kit right away. If that means taking a couple more weeks to get it then that's what its going to take. I want to do this right the first time.
If I were doing 37in tires with a lift, the MC 3.5in Game changer with replacement control arms is what I would do. It's pricey, but for the 8-9 years I've been on these forums I don't think I've ever read where anyone has had a problem or complaint or regretted going with a MC game changer lift.

I avoided the MC lift because I decided it was a wiser choice for me to not move up to 37's where if you stay with 35's instead, then you avoid the next jump of price threshold of pain and needed mods.

Here is the holy grail in regards to gear selection guide for the 3.6L
