I think that Bestop has even wider flares (+2").
Well, I'll be going to Germany. Heard they need complete coverage. To cover to the outside of my tire, I need an extra 3.5". I got a pretty good offset on my wheels, and never expected to have "Hound" inspected outside of TX.. Most of the places I'm seeing (Quadratec, 4wd) have only Bushwhacker and Xenon and they list an extra 2", and 1.6" respectively. Yet, when I go to Bushwhacker's website and look at their "flat flares", they state an extra 9.5" of coverage.. Maybe I'll just roll the dice, get SOMETHING; and if it's not enough, mount the stock's back on and figure how I'm gonna ship 35" tires out there... rules suck

I have the bushwacker flats, I think they are factory width. My tires still stick out.

Hmmm.. Why on earth would they make factory spec flares? That seems counter-productive. Maybe they meant 9.5" total coverage instead of 9.5" extra. I wonder how much a set of custom flares would run me?

Aftermarket flares let the tire stuff more...a 35inch tire can rip off a stock flare where a aftermarket will be fine. I think thats the reason most people switch them. Thats my reason for switching anyway lol

Go to post 16 on this thread-I have been thinking about something like this-Called Pacer flexy flares-I know they aren't pretty-but they look like they will work, Quadratec sells them.

I live in Germany and I have a 4 in. lift with 37x12.50 that stick out and I have never had a problem passing inspection or with getting pulled over. I have lived there for 5+ years and before the JK I had a 3/4 ton Dodge Ram the tires stuck out on and never had a problem back then either. I have heard of some inspection places on post that have been strict but you can always take it to another post to get it inspected if you find one is easier than another. If you have any questions I probably have the answer or can get it for you.

Just mounted the Bushwacker flat fender flares. I run 35" tyres on the Rubicon rims with 1" spacers. The tyres don't stick out.

Here is a pic taken today:

Really? Where do you get inspected? (Just in case Katterbach is strict)
