Default Opinions?

Speaking of Falkens, and this is coming from a BFG guy. I need to move up to 315x70rx17. Im running 255s on my rubicon with a 2.5" teraflex lift. She is a daily driver with weekend excursions off road. The Manager at Discount tire overheard me speaking with the sales guys and told me that there is a set of Falken Rocky Mountains coming back tomorrow because the guy really wants 35s. He is offering to sell/mount them for me for $915 as if brand new(been on the road for less than a week) Warrantee included. Do you all have any advice or opinions on these? Thanks in advance.

I emailed them a while ago and they wrote back saying it wasn't slated to come out to the masses till 2015.

This is for 315/70/17's? From the specs on their website, there is a 0.2" height difference between the 315/70 and the 35x12.50. His trade-up doesn't make sense.
And for only 4, or for 5? If it's for 5, great deal, go ahead and grab them. For 4, you'll save what, $150 or so buying these vs what he paid? (assuming he paid website retail, and not a price match). Still not a bad deal, IF this is a tire you were looking at already.

So, do you want a milder AT tire, or something more aggressive looking? The wildpeak/rocky mountain is a good tire in most terrain, but if you want the 'look' of an offroad tire...

That said, I am running the 325/80/16's now (37x12.50 equivalent) and like them a lot so far -- except for the look. Still can't get used to seeing them instead of the old mudders.

They are saying the MT's will be ready for public this fall. There are several sponsors who have them now and will be testing them out at EJS.
