im looking for a set of these but i think they are illegal in NJ

Fake or real. They're both perfectly legal in nj. Pretty much in Jersey u can do anything u want. They lifted almost all restrictions a few years ago

Do you have a link to the new laws? This is America, just because they aren't inspecting it anymore doesn't mean anything goes.
