Default Fabbed some sliders...

Took a pile of pieces of scrap I've been accumulating/hoarding/hiding at work, and made something useful out of it. Those are aindrops in the pics. Finally got some rain this morning.

Yeah, the do look alike. Mine ended up a little different. You can see in the 1st shot that the square tube on mine sticks out from under the rocker. I think it's about flush on the Shrockworks. Also, I cut the square tube on a 45 deg. angle in the front and back. I think Shrockworks 90's theirs.

Thanks for the complement though. If you look closely, you'll see my fabwork isn't even in the same league as theirs.

I've had this idea floating around in my head for a few years. That's what I had planned for my Scrambler and never got around to making them yet. Not sure where I saw them first. I think Shrockworks has been making them for a few years though for various Jeeps.

I forgot to mention, a friend at work did the welding on this project. We teamed up to do the rest of the cutting and bending. My welding sucks as of now.

They looked identical to me as well until i noticed the square tube extending past the round tube up front as well as the 45* in the square tubing.. Nice work you had me going for a minute there.. yours look to be weld ons however might I ask how you mounted them to the frame ? I vaguely see from one of your pictures looks like u just welded the legs straight to the frame rail correct me if I am wrong

Good job, they look nice. What did you use to paint them? Looks almost like Jim's color...might be a good touch up.

thanks,

Nick

Thanks for the complements, guys. The paint's called Rustoleum Hammered Finish, or something like that. They call it black, but it's more of a dark charcoal. Matches the flares pretty well. I've used it on several things in the past. It really looks better than in the pics. The raindrops makes it look crappy. You must let it cure for about 2 days before handing after painting though. I installed them after about 24 hrs and they were still alittle tacky. So, I have a few spots that need touching up. After it hardens though, it's pretty tough. I got it at Home Depot. I think it's like 5 or 6 bucks a can.
