Default Or Fab Tire Carrier Removal

Anyone here removed their Or Fab tire carrier from their JK and then repaired the body afterwards?

I'm looking to trade in my 2011 for a 2012/2013 and am wondering if the body repairs needed once the carrier has been removed will cost me more money than i'd be able to get by selling the tire carrier? In which case I'd just leave it on the Jeep when I trade it in.

Thanks

The only hole to be patched would be where the landing block is, everything else is internal or covered by the carpet. Patch job would be small but not sure how much it would be to get it painted.

I wouldnt even patch it. Just get a flat black rubber grommet and it will look fine.

You can buy caps at Ace Hardware that fit perfect in the hole

A sticker....really like your dealer won't notice that? I did it and my local body shop charged me just under $300 but I took off the tail light and interior trim and reinstalled. They have to do some minor welding sanding and paint. Looks good as new.

Maybe I'll try the plug and see if that flies.

For $300 worth of body work, it's not worth pulling it off and trying to sell it.

Yeah, not too sure on the sticker, but I appreciate the suggestion

That's the ace hardware caps I was talking about. They are about 45 cents a piece

Ive had no problems with these and water doesn't get behind them even when washing

They make a ton of different sizes, so Im sure you will find what you need
