Default OR-Fab tire carrier

Ok so I just finished the install yesterday and man I like this thing. My question is, the tire carrier as about 3/8 inch of preload. Meaning it is up about that much before its locked. Is that ok or should it line up absolutely perfect?

If you can lock it, and its snug, then you're fine. You'll find it tends to droop over time (or added weight like a hi-lift, rotopax cans, etc) and you'll have to tighten the bolts again.

Ok makes sense. Just paranoid about the hinges lol. Didn't want to tweak them because it has preload when it's latched. Does that make sense?

Not really. I'm sure it's fine. Your picture looks just like mine when I installed it.

Here's mine. I freakin' love it! Gives me room to carry a 35" tire, rotopax, hilift jack, and other crap. I'm relocating my license plate to the t-bar soon.

In the 3rd pic you can see how with a lot of weight over time the carrier tends to drop. Usually after re-tightening the hinge bolts it'll sit flush with the catch again.

Looks good man. So what Im saying, do you adjust yours so it lines up perfect or just pretty close and then let the block either pick up or pull it down when it's latched.

I'm thinking about going with this tire carrier. How was the install? Looks great by the way.
