Experience with amazon winches like X-bull or Zesuper?
I keep seeing these two brands show up on "Best winch" lists, and they are considerably cheaper than smittybilt or warn. Anyone have one that they've had a good or bad experience with?

They look like they are the exact same winch just with a different name and colors. Edit: I just noticed one is 9500 pounds and the other claims to be 13,000 pounds. I have no idea how reliable they are but me personally wouldn't be willing to try my luck being stuck on a trail because of a faulty winch. Just my opinion, you are more than free to do as you feel is right for you.
I went with a Warn Zeon 12-s for my Jeep.
Good luck with whichever you choose.

Mind you, the poll asked what I had, not what I think is the best. My Smittybilt X20 has been great for bout 7 years now. I'd love a Warn but couldn't justify the cost for my use. The Smitty at the time was a nice bang-for-the-buck type thing. I have not looked for winches in some time but I can't say I've heard of those two brands at all.....as in nobody asking about them or talking about them. I can see how the price is attractive. As with any Chinese thing, my Smitty included, you typically get what you pay for in terms of quality and longevity. You need to weigh what your wheeling adventures are like and the precarious positions you, or your friends, might get into. If you are doing hardcore things and a quality winch could be the difference between a successful or failed recovery, then a couple hundred bucks saved ain't going to matter much at that point when you're talking thousands of dollars in potential damage.

I've had my Warn for 22 years. The schematics are on their website, and parts are still available (at least they were a year ago the last time I looked). Whole nother price category, so that has zero bearing on your question, just a suggestion to consider the whole throw-away aspect of going super cheap. Will a no-name company honor the warranty? If you have to pay to send it back for repair, where are you sending it? Or will you just cut your losses and buy another one?
Not trying to talk you into a Warn here, honestly if I was in the market now it would not be a top-dollar warn coming home with me. Just saying, regardless of any reviews you find, you might consider putting some thought into maybe bumping the budget up to the next tier of winches.
