Expedition One with hi-lift?
#12
That was a big reason I opted for this one, that and I already had the front....
Yes, I need to straighten and tighten the bracket down. When I got it I just threw it on to see how it looked, and havent gotten around to getting the spare off to really tighten it down.
My liscence plate has snapped its little clips off, and a bungee is holding it on!

I just installed the Expedition One and I LOVE IT! I'm fortunate enough that my work is about 15 min from their shop so I picked it up and saved myself shipping $$ .
The LOD bumper is also nice and was my second choice but there were a couple of issues.
1. I like the carrier that attaches/opens with the door much better.
2. All of the bumper/carrier combos I've seen, including the LOD partially obscure the license plate with the latch mechanism. Could be a problem with local law enforcement.
3. LOD was 4 weeks out when I was ready to purchase. I don't like to wait that long. The Expedition One was in stock and I picked it up the same day.
4. The Expedition One is full-width but doesn't extend too far into the wheel wells so it fixed my tire rub issue with the stock bumper. The LOD appears to extend just about as far as the stock which means I would have needed a stubby... which I don't like as well.
5. The Expedition One works with the stock receiver (as mentioned). You don't even have to mess with it, just unbolt the stock bumper and bolt the new one on. The receiver actually helps hold the bumper up so you can line up the bolt holes. The LOD has an integral receiver but no loops for the safety chains. They will add them if you want but it would have to be ordered that way.
I asked James about the Hi-lift while at their shop and he said it will be coming out very soon. They also have a trail rack in the works which I'm excited to see. One of the good things about the Gen. 2 (like mine) is the carrier is drilled with a couple dozen holes that gives you a lot of options if you want to add brackets and make your own accessories. The options are endless.
In the end I'm extremely happy with the Expedition One. This bumper is seriously sweet.

Got one on the way
Yes Exp. One makes a hi-lift mount. I just ordered one yesterday $69.95.
Here is a quote from Exp. 1 when I asked them about the mount:
"Yes we do. Our new website should be up soon and and you will be able to look at it. In case you don't want to wait that long, I am attaching a document with install photos. We currently only have it in black powder coat, not in the zinc coat shown."
I'd put the photos from the PDF on here but I'm still trying to figure out this whole picture posting thing, it's kicking my a$$. Will take some pics when I get everything mounted. That is once my Jeep is delivered on March 14!!

If you are wanting to mount the Geri cans, don't get in a hurry. I have been waiting for almost two years. I bought one of the first Expedition One bumpers with the promise that the the Geri can mount was no more than 3 months away. The bumper is great, but they don't seem to mind that they left me hanging. I call every few months and get a different excuse every time. Live and learn.

I know this is an older thread, no harm bringing Expedition One threads back to life, the bumpers are superb ! What isn't as great as I wanted, is their horizontal Hi-Lift mount that gives bruises every time the tailgate is opened, so I redrilled it to mount the Hi-Lift diagonally, here's a photo
