I purchased a Fox Steering Stabilizer after seeing it on someone else's rig on the trail. The owner of the other JK mentioned something about emptying the gas out. Someone else on this forum thread mentioned the same. Im just tring the hear different opinions and logic on emptying the gas before doing so.

By the way, this is what I got after busting mines up... http://www.quadratec.com/products/16335_2000.htm

I think I am following you now. If I am understanding you correctly you want to know if you need to reduce the pressure in your Fox stabilizer. From what I have read on here and from others maybe maybe not, you need to mount it and find out if it over compensates for your stearing. If the answer is yes, then you need to relieve some of the pressure.

Keep in mind I have no experience with the Fox SS, this is based only on what I have read. Others may be able to chime in with more info.

I have it and like it the way it came, works with my tires and set up. You can fine tune it by adjusting the pressure, it shouldnt push your steering. I wouldnt let it all out, If you let some out of the stabilizer, you better like what you let out ,unless you have bottle to replenish it. if its too soft it not doing anything. Although you can find someone or a shop to help you. Its not hard. Good luck.....

Thanks for the replies! I just finished installing the Fox SS along with woods relocation adaptor and am taking the the JK out for a ride to test it out.

I remember taking off the OEM steering stabilizer a few months back and how easily aI could compress it. The Fox SS requires a whole lot more to compress so Im expecting a big difference.

I'll post later on how it goes.

This was easy to install along with the Woods SS relocation bracket. The steering wheel is very stable at highway speeds. On hard bumps (while turning) the steering wheel returns to center pretty harshly. I'll slowly release/adjust some of the gas to get it to my liking.
