If it's outside of the jeep then take it to a machine shop and have them do it. It's cheap, quick, and they're usually balls-on accurate whereas sometimes we can sway a little with the grinder wheel.

If they're already installed- seal up the tube and get to it with a grinder.

They're already in. I was thinking about trying a 3" cutt off wheel and trimming around it. I think grinding it would take forever.

A cut off wheel would be quicker. I've used a 4" one on my grinder.

Trimmed about 1/4" off the sleeve. Used the sawzall and cleaned it up with a file.
