The EVO sliders were designed to be welded to the frame and we don't know what you are thinking about doing.

I have the EVO rock skins and sliders and they are awesome. I had to do some adjustments to the mounting plates to fit with my skid plating but they are welded on. Best looking sliders out there in my opinion. They are extremely soild as well!

Ill try and be of some. help. while you could maybe drill holes in the mounting surface of the sliders and in the frame to mount them up, it won't be near as strong. If you're going to go with a slider from Offroad Evo, weld them on. Evo stuff is tough.

I'm interested in getting the EVO sliders for my 2 DR JK.

Some Concerns I have:

Will welding to the frame, weaken the frame?

Rust... if these things begin to rust to the point of no return... how do you remove them? Will removal damage the frame?

I'm debating between getting the Mopar Rubicon Rails that bolt on ( and I've seen pics of those rusting), or going with what seems to be very awesome EVO Sliders :-)

Thanks for the help!

I'll post some pics as soon as they arrive I just ordered them beginning of this week. I'm also going to be welding them on. Not that it's a huge concern of mine but if I ever need or want to remove them it's not a gig deal to cut and grind them off.

welding to the frame will not weaken the frame

rust: surface rust from nicks, scrapes, dents, and gouges is treatable with some light sanding, priming, and touch up paint. but if the rust should become beyond repairable or you just want to take them off, then use a side grinder to grind the welds off at the slider and frame. there isnt much to it

removing will not damage the frame, you would have some spots on the frame from where you grinded the welds off, you just need to smooth the area out, prime it, then paint it

edit: recommend using some type of rust inhibitor where it changes the chemical makeup of the rust and stops the rust in its track. personally i am a fan of OSPHO. then u prime and paint

Thanks for the response. One more question...

Would welding to the frame void the warranty?
