Default Evo Coilover questions

I have a 2016 JKUR, and Recently had a EVo Bolt Coilover lift installed with the 8-X-factor Control arms from Rock Krawler and Adams Driveshafts.

Everyonce in a while the rear will bottom out, i have about 3/4 inch between the Slider and the Tuning rings on the rear coilovers, Scott from Jeep Asylum(dirtys Garage) did the install and set everything right about 3.5 inches of lift, but the bottoming out hurts...i will attach some pics of the rear shocks for to see if anyone has in idea, These are out of the box Kings from EVO...so they come with 200/250 in the rear..for spring rates...any help or info is greatly appreciated.

Just an opinion.

Coil overs can travel much more than a stock mount really allows. If you're limited by the system itself, built around the stock mounts. . .

I'm done

1. You can lower the stop ring to half an inch above your slider. This will activate the lower spring sooner making the spring compress less easy and in return not bottom out as much

2. Add an inch of pre load and will give slightly more lift creating more distance between the bumps. Also do the same in the front to balance your ride height

These are basically your only options unless you want to get into changing out your spring rates and that's an whole other battle

Also were your nitrogen levels checked after install? They need to be 150-170psi on each corner. That comes down to personal preference but most like it at 150. When mine came in I had anywhere from 20psi to 100psi in them. All needed to be filled.

Another note is the closer the stop ring is to the slider the more harsh the ride will be... Most people have issue in the rear with bottoming out on the bumps. Just be sure it's that and not the stop ring combining both springs to activate making a way firm ride. Looks like you are a very light jeep and that can be a factor

Your problem is the lack of up travel, you should have gone with shorter travel shocks. Your only real option is to relocate the shock mounts like mentioned. I have found Off road evolution coil overs do best at 5-6" of lift otherwise you run into the limited up travel.

What are those, 12" coilovers? give em 5" of shaft showing at ride height and see how it does.

Springs do settle over time, though it's usually the cheaper ones that do. What might have been fine after install, has probably dropped down a little.

After reading your post I looked at the pics it looks like he only has maybe 3" of shaft showing, so I think you are right on track with what you said...

hehe yea my first set of springs were cheap viper coils, I built the jeep, wheeled it for a few months, threw it on a trailer and dragged it to california. The couple thousand mile trip bouncing up and down on a trailer settled them so much that I went from 6" of shaft to 2". Replaced them with Eibach coils and it's all better. I am not saying OP needs to replace them, but an adjustment at least will be needed.

my drag link got horizontal lol

before-

after new coils (and a broken trackbar bracket)-

These guys are both right on. Most coilovers will run the sweet spot in the middle of their travel range. I'd recommend adjusting the stop rings down to 1/2" like stated above and see how that does, if that doesn't do it, I'd recommend raising your upper mount to get more shock travel on compression. I don't know much about the Evo kit, does it bolt in the stock shock bracket? If so, could you install the Synergy upper shock mount that moves the shock up and back? This gains you 2" of stroke over the stock mount.
