Default ETC check light on

Hello there, I’m new to this forum, but I have a 2011 JKU Sport, it has light modifications, and the other day I installed gauges to read my water temp, voltage, and oil pressure (haven’t installed this completely yet). And as soon as I hooked all the gauges up and fired it up, my check engine light, and my ETC light, which is the one with the lightning bolt, came on. No clue why. And as well, it seems to my that the jeep is constantly running in open loop, the fan is constantly running at full power from the moment I turn it on until I shut it off. Just curious if anyone else experienced anything like this or any fixes out there. Thanks

Have you scanned for the code? That may point you in the right direction.

Make a list of everything you took apart or disconnected to do the work. Re-check each item closely to make sure each item is reassembled or reconnected correctly.

Yeah I’ve ran it and I’m pulling code P 0118 which if I’m not mistaken is the electronic throttle control or something like that, but thank you that helps

P0118 is for the engine coolant temperature sensor.

Here is some info for that:

P0118- Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor Circuit High

Possible causes:
ECT signal circuit shorted to voltage
ECT signal circuit open
ECT sensor ground circuit open
ECT sensor
Powertrain Control Module
