Hi All-
I am no expert, by any means, but isn't it true that the internal components of "stock" engines should be fortified when adding things like a supercharger? If this does not happen, isn't the life of the engine going to be drastically shortened?

Just curious...

Talk to Ross at Ripp Mods. He's taken the 3.8 block apart and found that it is actually built extremely well with many of the features you would expect to find in a SC ready engine.

This engine seems to have gone through the paces at Chrysler, we suspect and its our position that the manufacturer knew that these rigs would be modified with forced induction. When we went through our test paces we purchased an 05 caravan 3.8l V6 with the intention of learning the engines weakness's. After we complete 30k miles of supercharged testing we took the engine out of our 07 to see what suffered. What we found was the 07 JK engine was completely different inside and many of the question we would have, were already addressed... such as piston design and coating, stronger rods, metal head gaskets and additional oiling.

Additionally with the nearly 500 kits we have on the road - short of 2 reported head gaskets there has been zero engine failure from the rotating assembly.

Lastly RIPP isn't looking to break your Jeep; we set this kit up to deliver boost more like a low pressure turbo than a "blower". The term Blower, refers to roots type superchargers which deliver boost much more aggressively as opposed to the predictable boost scale of a centrifugal (enter the arguments).

While your on here RIPP, what are your feelings on installing a SC on an engine with 65-70,000m ? Or in other words, do you have many peeps that have installed one on a higher mileage jk?

Yea - enough guys have to be sure in saying yes - best thing to do is do a compression test to make sure the cylinders balance is the same across the board. Call the shop speak with the techs they have a lot of info on the engine...
