I have looked at those before. I heard that they were not ever 100% locked, that they just applied a lot of pressure to the clutch plates to overcome slippage. Can you advise on this?

I have heard/read exactly the same thing. I have heard both good and bad about the ected. It seems when you ask for photos of breakage the ney-sayers seem to quiet up.

i know when i lift a tire and i engage the locker i can "feel" some sort of positive engagement. Sorta like everything is lining up and locking together. Something that is only pressure on clutches i dont think would feel like that. Lol but hey what would i know. All i know is that i have lifted front and rear tires and i keep moving forward just fine.
