Dynomax VT Cat-Back Exhaust Installed (video)
I searched high and low for some videos and reviews of this system on the 3.6 Pentastar and only found a couple of videos that were both just starts+rev, and very few threads with little information, so I took a few videos of my own and posted my thoughts below.
The system is the Dynomax VT Cat-Back, part # 38517, installed on my 4 door 2013.
Installation was a snap, sprayed some WD-40 on the hangars and they popped right out.
Installation took about 45 minutes from start (uninstall of OEM) to finish, and I was mostly taking my time with it.
I had zero fitment issues anywhere. When I was researching this model I saw some people say they had such issues, also that the muffler was not level and leaned to one side, I did not have this issue either.
Perhaps Dynomax have resolved these issues, or that I just installed it properly
At idle it sounds low and grumbly, but not deep enough to really "feel" it in the cabin.
There is definitely no drone when cruising, it's almost the same noise level as stock in the cabin when cruising in fact.
I have an auto, so I can't really WOT it without dropping gears all over the damn place, so I'm kind of stuck with less control over it, but when on the throttle its a medium loudness, kind of raspy, for sure in the mild range of noise level.
I can see some people would probably compare it to "ricey" sounding, and while I don't necessarily agree or disagree, it's DEFINITELY not as deep sounding as the MBRP I had on my 2007 2 door.
I can only assume the combination of the new engine and the longer length contributed to that.
Overall I'm still unsure of whether or not I like it enough to keep it.
My main goal was to open up the exhaust flow, and add some low end grumbling, which for the most part it did, and I couldn't go with something rip roaring loud (like some of the AFE videos I've seen) as I will soon have an infant riding along, and my wife didn't want it as loud as my 2 door.
In that aspect, it accomplished all of the above.
In short, it didn't completely win me over, but I am still comparing it to my old Jeep so I'm just trying to adapt to the change in tone.
In the video, I drove it like I normally would drive it, aka, I didn't take it up to 6 grand since that's just not how most people drive.
The video consists of 4 short clips, 1st and 3rd are stock, 2nd and 4th are the Dynomax.
I apologize that I did not do a drive by of either, I completely forgot.
Also YT kind of messed up the audio a little bit, but you can get the general idea.

I hope this helps anyone looking at this system.

I don't see the rock crawler system listed for the 2013 on the website, but my question is it looks like it might be the same system just with a different muffler, would I be able to just buy the muffler and swap it out?
