So I am wanting to do exactly what you did but clamp the muffler in instead of welding. would I just need two clamps you think?

Yep, you would just need to clamp it in the two spots that I welded. It would work just fine, I was just too cheap to buy clamps, lol.

Nice install. You 2-Door guys really got a lot less room than us under there.

So my biggest concern with this muffler is the diameter. It's 6" thick and will sit kind of low below the body frame. Has anyone had any problems with banging it on rocks? My current Borla is only 4" thick (oval shape) and actually sits almost an inch higher than the body frame. It would take an odd shaped rock to ever reach it.

this was my concern after I installed mine but I've been wheeling quite a few times and haven't had any impacts yet. It's still going to take an odd size rock to hit it and I'm sure at some point I will whack it.

It can happen, but I have done more damage to the exhaust tip than a muffler and I wheel often.
One other thing is that with its straight through design it isn't like there are baffles that could stifle flow.

OK, I'm going to give you a try. Is the welded one preferred and is #17263 the welded model? I've been on several websites using that number for a reference and they all show the picture of something different. I just want to make sure I'm getting the right one. Thanks!

Oops, I should have reviewed the previous posts before asking this. The 17263 is the spun, not welded, model. What are the advantages of one or the other? Seems welded would be more sturdy.
