So P/N 17230 is a fully welded muffler. It is a round style that is 21" over all 2.5" In/Out
The P/N 17263 is a "spun" style muffler. It is a round that is 20" over all 2.5" In/Out.
This is the muffler we use in our "rock crawler" and our Evolution Competition System.
Hope that helps!

Performance both are comparable.
Similar flow.
A lot of the muscle//hot rod crowd use the fully welded style.
The P/N 17263 is a perfect fit for a JK.

So if i buy just this muffler pn 17263, this is compatible with the rest of the stock exhaust and is a direct replacement for the stock muffler? Nothing else needed? Thanks!

I did some research on here and found a few examples of people inserting this muffler under the driver side before the axle. Then went outside and looked at my Jeep. Problem is, for my 2 door stock exhaust, there is no section of pipe straight for 20 inches that i could remove and insert this muffler. Anyone done this in a 2 door? Thanks

If you want check out our Facebook page, if you are on there. There is a whole JK album and a lot of it is the system that uses this muffler.
This will give you an idea.
