DuraTrac's....Which size ?
OK...it's time to replace the stockers and I will be going with DuraTracs. With a TF leveling kit and 19/60 springs (which netted right at an inch of lift front and rear), I know clearance won't be an issue other than the need for wheel spacers. The OEM 255/75R/17 tires measure 32.1" The 285/70R/17 DuraTracs on the GY website show an OD measurement of 32.8" which is very close in height to the OEM tires. From there the Duratrac jumps to a 315/70R/17 which shows a OD measurement of 34.4" Do the DuraTracs run "true to size" or shorter or taller than listed? This Jeep is 90% daily driver with only some country dirt trails, etc - very rarely. It has 3.73 and is an Auto.... I know the added tread width and weight of the DuraTracs will affect the performance of the 3.8 as tire size goes up, but should I stay at the 32.8" size or go to the 34.4" That's the million dollar question.... Any opinions from anybody out there?

I went with the 275/70R18 Duratrac. Considered a 33.5". At 32.5 psi mine are just over 32.5" on the road. My stock 255/60R18's were just about 29.5" when i took them off.
As for mileage and power, I have a manual and the change wasn't dramatic. My mileage is close, around town is similar and on the highway 6th gear isn't quite as useful. I have 3.21's, however I do have a set of 4.10's I'm waiting to i stall.

That is the same set up that I have except for the leveling kit, 285/70R17 this is how it looks. I have the wheel spacers on also 1.5 spidertrax. I also got a Superchips programmer and it was night and day after I added the tires.

Ive had my 315 70 17 for a week now. I have 4 door with 3.73 and had started the same thread/question as you. My current opinion go with the 315. I had made up my mind to sell my hard top to pay for a regear but after driving it im in no hurry to regear .Its very hilly in east Tennessee and I was expecting the gear /tire issue to be much worse than it actually is. I did buy a used superchips and im sure it helped. Just took it on the interstate today to Knoxville and held it at 75 with no issues. Mpg was reading at 16.5. Only big difference is you cant accelerate as fast.

Was at same crossroad at one point in time. Mine is a 2 door with the teraflex leveling kit and I went 33s. It looks and drives great, but if I had it to do over I would DEFINATELY without a doubt go to the 35s. No question. As most will tell you (as told me) if you are even considering going to 35s you will regret going 33s. This is very true in my case. You will love the duratrac tire though, in either size.

I have a new set of 315/70R17 Duratracs mounted and waiting to be put on the Jeep. While not under the vehicle yet, these are measuring 34.5" mounted on a 17x9" wheel.

I've got the TF leveling kit. I am also considering this same setup. Do I HAVE to go with wheel spacers to run the 315's? Quadratec says the leveling kit is good for 305s. If I do have to have spacers, where is the best place to get them (cheapest)? Thanks.

I plan on going with 315/70R17, but I have to wait until I move to California in April. Shipping to Hawaii cost way too much and I'm just going to have to wait. Those of you running 35's, did you get C Gussets? I need my rear track bar relocation bracket welded and considering getting the C Gussets done at the same time.
You will need spacers in the rear or you will rub the sway bar link, they come in sets of two and you should get a set fro the front too just because it will look odd if you don't. I have Spidertrax 1.5" I live in Hawaii so I don't ever get any great deals, and when I do shipping kills it. Check Dave out at Northridge 4x4, they go for about $100 a pair.
Spidertrax is made in the USA, some imported ones go for about $20 cheaper so you make the decision. Whatever route you go just ensure they're hub-centric and you check the torque 50 miles after install and recheck them regularly, I do mine every 6k at tire rotation time.
