Bingbola - At first glance, I thought you had quoted my thumbnail picture. I was going to go with the XDs but really wanted a 17" rims...I thought the Rugged Ridge and XDs looked similar.

Default Any Opinion on this deal?

I really love these rims, and the tires look great, but after reading this thread, I'm concerned about the tire. I do no off-raoding, mostly highway commuting and a little beach/dunes/mudding occasionally. Any thoughts on the deal/tire/rims?

One of my main concerns was having an offroad/aggresive tire that looked like one but didn't sound like one. The Duratrac is super quiet on the road and doesn't drone like most MT and some AT tires do.

My vote: Definitely go with the Duratracs....I've got that size on my 2010 Unlimited...pics below

Default Trail Grapplers

I ran the Trail Grapplers through the Chicago winter and they did great. I slipped one time and that was going over a bridge so not much of an issue. I will not talk smack about the Duratracs though. My buddy is running them and I really think they are very comparable. Either way is a good choice!

I run duratracs. And they are the best winter tire I ever used. I used bfg at ko and Cooper ST before. The duratracs blow them away. I live in the snow capitol of buffalo NY and haven't used four by four at all this winter. Only once when I had some ice on my driveway with unplowed snow on top.

I have experience with both. I currently run the Nitto Trail Grapplers on my Jeep but I've had some Duratracs on my Colorado P/U. Both are good. I like the looks of both but am partial to the looks of the Grapplers. However my wife has had my truck and she runs it on a rural mail route with Duratracs and I must say they last a long time for the type of tire they are and have been very happy with them. With tire rotation at every oil change and proper care you should be able to get 30k+ out of the Nitto's but the verdict is still out. I know that you can get 40k+ out of the Duratracs. you need to weigh the price difference vs looks vs mileage. i don't think you can go wrong with either one. Let us know what you do.

All of you running duratracs...did you get E load rating? On the website all I can find is E, would really like a smoother riding D.
