Default Duratrac or Nitto Trail grappler

I'm looking to get some 35's pretty soon and was wondering what your opinions are on these two tires and which is better. I've only heard good things about both.

I'm looking at either the 315/70R17 Duratracs or the 35x12.50x17 Trail grapplers

I heard the Duratracs don't run very close to a true 35 at all, I know that they won't be a perfect 35 but have heard they arent even a 34. Not sure about the trail grappler at all. Anyone have measurements?

Also I do live in Michigan and usually have a decent amount of snow for a nice portion of the year. I need a tire which is good in snow. I know the duratracs have the snow flake rating and have heard good things about them. Anyone have info the trail grapplers?

Also I will be doing a lot of offroading on the sand dunes here, any preferences to which is better in sand?

This is my DD so also would like them to be a nice ride and good tread ware.

They are similar in price, grapplers a little more, but I need something that is true to size, good in snow and sand, good for a DD, but also has that mean look.

Like I said I've heard good things about both tires but which would you prefer/buy?

Living in Oklahoma our winter consists of crazy amounts of ice. I hate driving on ice.

So, when I went to consider buying an MT I was fearful of how sloppy the tire might perform in rain and ice, and that is exactly what first attracted me to the Duratracs. I bought them in July, so I haven't had them on ice yet, but in rain they are just as good as the stock SRA street tires.

Off-road these tires are beasts, and take hold of just about anything I put under them.

My 315/75R16 Duratracs measure in at 34.5" when mounted and inflated to 30 PSI.

In all my years of motorsports experience I couldn't recommend any Nitto. Their street tires do NOT grip as advertised, and NONE of their tires last.
HOWEVER... that being said I DO recommend Toyo Tires highly. I mention them because they own Nitto. If you wanted to have a comparison, look at some open countrys.

Grapplers have do zero siping which means that you will be all over the road on them. I've got 325/65/18's and they measure out to 34.6 just as gy says. The duratracs are a fantastic tire. And they are very quiet for such an open pattern.

Nittos are great tires. My Mud grapplers did very well this winter with snow and ice, and my next tire will be the trail grappler. That said, in virginia, it only (really) snows every few years, and last year was the year. For your use, I'd go duratrac.

Don't know why the one guy didn't like nitto, but he sounded like he was talking mainly street tires. Nittos are great!
