Duratrac 315's. Axtual height?
I know Duratracs run a little smaller then their posted size but why is the actual measured size? Also, what psi are you guys running with these? I'm stuck between the 295's and the 315's for my DD. I don't wheel and don't want to regear but want to get as close to 34s as possible. Any pics would also be greatly appreciated.

I put 285/75R17 BFG KM2s on my unlimited and they are very close to a full 34 mounted. They should calculate to 34.1 but run about 33.8 mounted on stick Moab wheels. There are pictures of them on my 2012 in my album. Another perk of the narrower tire is no wheel spacers are needed with stock wheels.

The given calculation of a 315-70/17 is 34.36 inches. Various factors change given actual wheel width and make of tire. As stated, the DuraTrac is more like 34.1 when mounted on a Jeep 17 x 7.5 wheel. It drops a little on a 17 x 8.5" wheel.

My 315/70/R17 GY Duratracs, at 33-35 psi, mounted on a 9" rim with the weight of my unlimited and added spare & rear bumper and tire carrier.....measure about 33.5" tall.
I don't have a pic of me standing next to my JK, so it's difficult to really get a good perspective of the tires actual height. but here's a shot next to an older little fella.

I'm running 315/70R-17's. They measure between 34" and 34 1/4" inflated to 30psi. I'm very happy with these tires.
Here's a photo from Engineer Pass, Colorado.......
They ride very smoothly and are surprisingly quiet. I wish I had 35's, but I would definately need to re-gear. With this size Dura-Tracs its borderline.

Kinda depends on your gears and tranny, man. With a 6spd and factory 4.10's, mine does fine. Uphill and windy can be a challenge, but nothing a quick downshift can't fix. Even pulls my 18.5' boat just fine.
315/75R16 on 16x8 Black Rock Dunes. Run 29psi front, 27psi rear, measures roughly 34 1/4.

I've got the auto tranny and 3.73 gears. I think that size tire is the limit before you must re-gear. I'm hoping to go to 35's when these tires wear out. I'll get the gears before then.
