OK so it is a front mount winch that would explain why it was so expensive for a plate. Also now looking at it there seems to be two broken bolts I didnt see in the mounting holes I will have to get out of there

In my opinion that may be one of the best if not the best winch Warn ever came out with. They are tough, fast, and can be rebuilt reasonably easy. You got a super deal. I can't believe that he came down to $200.

if there are broken bolts(steel bolts corroded into alum. housing)and you cannot get them out, look on warns site with your model# replacement housings are avail.for the price youi paid for an 8274 your still ahead of the game if you got to put a couple bucks into it,I have a second warn M8000 I got for free but it has 3 of the 4 mount bolts broken in the drum housings, when I checked on parts its was around $280 to replace both drum housings and basically overhaul it,I plan to do this and mount in location of stock muffler,Good score on a great winch

Yup...8274's are a non-standard mounting.
They don't have the grunt of the "big" winches, but they've got great line speed, and they just keep on going.
I got a great deal on a 9.5ti, and so far I'm loving it...but if I could have bought an 8274 at the same price, I may well have grabbed it instead of the 9.5ti.
For a light vehicle, the big drum and the fast line speed are great.

Well I am going to start taking it apart tonight I have startedand so far I have found that 2 of the 4 solonoids are new and allo contacts are clean and corrosion free. I can see some slight oil that had leaked out from where, the I guess you could call it the wheel on the side, so it may need a new seal. I found a site on how to completely tear this thing down so I think I will..
Its not like I can mount it right now anyway and I want to play with it.
