I know what you mean. It's sad that I try to do everything myself to save money, make sure it's done right, and get the learning experience - BUT when I have a problem even the (so-called) professionals don't know the answers.

I know that I made a mistake installing the drive shaft, but I agree... someone should of said, "hey did you check..."

I love this forum and everyone on here is helpful. Guess I will always leave it up to the Jeep owners for information, not the "professionals". Still though... they (4x4 shops) have helped with other things so I can't rule them out... yet.

I brought it into the shop this morning to check my caster/pinion angle and everything seems to be in specs. Any ideas? Maybe warped drive shaft?

Man I have the same Coast 1310 Front shaft(with new flanges). I have had a vibration at around 50mph ever since I first installed it. I have tried adjusting the front control arms (at one point I had the pinion pointing straight in line with the shaft) It did not cure the vibration . I couldn't drive it like that so I took it and had it lined up at a shop. The tube that the shaft was shipped in was damaged when it came in, but I didn't notice any damage to the shaft.
I also did not install it until I had the 5:38 gears installed 3 months later.
I am going to have to do something soon because I am going to drive it down to Carova Beach NC for vacation. I may have to buy a new shaft.

I just don't get it. What are these guys doing that are running 6-8 inches of lift???
Do they not drive it on the highway?

Now that I have solved my drive shaft vibes. My caster is set at +1 7/8 (left) and +1 3/4 (right)

should I worry aboout this? should I get my caster back to around +4.2 ?

with caster that low, you might find that your handling on the highway will be on the flighty side of things. if not or, if you're okay with how it handles, no, you should have nothing to worry about.

Thanks WOL. I did notice it a little "flighty" feeling, but manageable.
