I'm contemplating on doing the high steer flip and was wondering if there is any other reason for doing this other then keeping the TB and DL parallel with each other.

Also the improved handling right?

Yes, keeping any link parallel with the ground will reduce movement in what it is attached to, generally resulting in a better ride.

also helps with correction bump steer which some might refer to as Death Wobble. Death Wobble is a lot worse than bump steer.
