Default Drag link

Has anyone built a drag link using rod ends and high misalignment spacers rather than tie rods? I saw one build but not a lot of information other than pictures.

I did, what are you looking to know?

Heres a picture

I used 1.5 od x 1/4 wall dom. I believe a 4 foot length was plenty. Get some weld in thread bungs and 2 rod ends to fit. Also 4 hi misalignment spacers. I used 3/4 rod ends and its held up for quite a while. I did one end left hand and one right hand so i can center the steering wheel easily if needed. Measure up about what you will need eye to eye and cut the bom accordingly. Then weld in the bungs and its basically done.

You will have to drill your knuckle and I used a 5/8 bit and bolt.

heres a few more pics to get the picture, although these are of my rear track bar..

That is exactly what I wanted to know. How did you do the Tie rod assembly. On the passenger side is it above or below the mount I can see it is above on the driver side.

Actually upon further inspection the tie rod appears to be below on both sides. Is it bent slightly?

You need to either run offset tie rod ends or add a bend on each end of the tie rod to clear the diff.

Maertz, its gonna be a tight squeeze between your draglink and your ram assist whenever you get around to tackling that project. I have seen it done, but its very very close

Did you have to add more bump stop when you flipped the drag link?

You will need a total of 3" additional bumpstop or you can notch your frame

i am running 2.5" with no issues at all... It will depend on tire size and fenders.. 3" is a pretty good ballpark though. I was hitting at 2" bumps, and had to go to 2.5
