Here is my recommendation:

http://truckandwinch.com/recon-10-50...winch-kit.html

10.5k is a lot of winch and with the synthetic line you can't hardly beat the price. 'Merica

Damn it... I hate when I see a killer deal right after I bought something else.

Yep, I called when I ordered the combo pack when it was on sale. Then I told the guy that I was active duty Military and a forum member so he gave me a smoking deal with $500 shipped to my doorstep with everything including the recover gear. winch and recovery stuff showed up 2 days later perfect and one tough ass box! I would deal with them again in a heartbeat!

Man thats cheap. Sounds too good to be true though. Im in the same situation at OP.

But i was looking at the XRC20-10 Comp one. Its $649 with free shipping. I guess the only difference between this and the XRC10 is that it's amphibious.

Smittybilt 98310 X2O-10 Comp-Series Winch - 10, 000 Capacity : Amazon.com : Automotive

What do you think about that deal?

I ordered the recon winch kit on Saturday. Once I get it installed, I'll run a thread on any action.

I've got the Recon winch and I have used it from pulling stumps to being buried with both axles in mud. Thing pulls like a champ. I can't say enough good things about it. It's already paid for itself and then some.

If I can find it again. I just received the winch and will be getting it on as soon as I get my bumper ready.

BTW, $513, shipping included, with the winch kit. And, it has a wireless remote. As much as I like many switches on he dash, the wireless remote is nice for not having to run wires through the dash.
