Default Does this sound like a realistic progression? (wheels/tires/lift)

I've been trying to figure out what I want to do with my wheels for almost a year now and I think I've got it. tell me if this wouldn't work.

Now: Stock steelies on 29" tires
1st mod: BFG KM2 255/85/R16 -will these fit on the steelies? they are 10" wide
2nd mod: 16" ATX artilleries - will the BFGs fit these? 16x9
3rd mod: 2.5" lift

Sounds good, the tire size your looking at is 33.4" give or take... Food for thought a 275 will bump you to 34" and a 285 will bump you to 35"..... I say this because I've got a 2.5" lift running tires about 32" and wished I went with a diff size (bigger) I love my tires but they look a bit small with the 2.5" lift... I should have waited and done more research.... Just my .2 ...

a 285/75/16 is a 35" tire?** I am looking at getting new tires (GY Duratracs) and I thought this was around 33". Also, If they're looking to get the tires before the lift, wouldn't they be limited to about 33"? This is the same plan I have, so if my thought process is off I'd love to know now

**I just noticed that the OP had 255/85/16. My bad**
